If you have ever dreamed of building a wooden yacht this is where to begin. Howard I. Chaplele's style is from an earlier century but the information is solid and copious. He speaks the language of the sea from a time when the great sailing vessels roamed the oceans of the world, so be prepared to learn more than a few new words. Every part of these boats had a name, every bit of rope, every sail, nearly every plank and Chapelle uses those names, so keep a couple of good nautical dictionaries handy. This is detailed reading but hey, yacht design is all about the details. Enjoy!
