Wilbur and Orville Wright made history when they flew their motor powered plane, the Flyer, for twelve seconds on December 17, 1903. Although Orville was actually the first to fly the plane, the brothers shared credit for the historic flight as they shared everything--their home, business, plans for the future, and even their bank account! When Wilbur died nine years later, Orville continued to work on inventions and improving flight, but his passion for airplanes died with his brother.
