Great historical novel!

This book gives the reader a good insight to the post Civil War South. It shows dramatically how both blacks and whites were effected. And how difficult it is to change the prejudices and preconceived ideas of both sides.
The drama and suspense of the story never lets up. It holds the readers interest plus gives much food for thought.
