I wish This Was Out When I Was A Kid

TITLE: The New Adventures Of Pippi Longstockings
GENRE: Fantasy, adolescent magicical
CAST: Tami Erin
PLOT: Pippi is separated from her larger than life father and his boat in a bad storm. She has the emergency rendezvous home to go to. While there she meets and gets along really well with her new neighbors. Since she is apparently parentless, some town's people try to place her in an orphanage. RETURN ON INVESTMENT: 8.5 of 10; The review title says it all. If I was a young lad again and had not seen too many movies with mysteriously magical girls in them, I'd be all gaga over this one. As it is, I was happy to learn the story the non-American world has been familiar with for decades. We had our Spanky and gang, Tom Sawyer, Dead End Kids while Pippi grew in fame the rest of the world over.
DVD BONUS: Brief bio/filmographies
ADDED NOTES Tami erin used her popularity from this film well and became a UN spokesperson and is still working at it. I wonder if she can still walk up walls?
