Corregidor revisted

I visited Corregidor in 1970 and prowled the tunnel but was kept from the laterals by our guide. "There are still live bombs around," he warned. The Last Lieutenant brought back the experience in full color, sound, and smell missing on that visit. The huge, circular marble memorial nearby brought tears, and I noticed everyone else was weeping as well. Gobbell can write. He leaves no doubt that he feels. I have read almost all the books following The Last Lieutenant and have not been disappointed. I am a Gobbell fan for life.
