This book is a wonderful explanation of how important our beliefs about our beginnings are to our entire worldview. If we do not believe that God created the heavens and the earth, how can we believe anything else scripture says? As for me, when I became a Christian at the age of 56, there were two main reasons for my absolute belief in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God: the historical certainty that Jesus Christ did live, was crucified and was resurrected on the third day. I am certain of this because we know that thousands of early Christians, including eleven of the twelve Apostles were martyred for their belief in Him; they would never have been willing to die such cruel deaths for a lie. The other reason for my certainty is that so many Biblical prophecies have already come true, literally, and it is not conceivable to me that the rest will not come true also. Once I became a believer, I started to read the Bible and study it for myself; In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth....
