The finest and most lavish documentation of the art used to promote rock concerts, this comprehensive history of rock posters reproduces myriad posters, handbills, tickets, and ephemera in full color photos. A splendid visual feast, this book is de rigeur for any collector of rock posters, fan of rock music, or simply as a record of pop culture history.

Particularly strong in the psychedelic years, this classic reference also covers early rhythm & blues, new wave, and punk rock. The book also features an excellent oral documentation, including interviews with artists, musicians, promoters, and collectors.

Unless you're a collector looking for an extra copy, be sure to get the full-sized hc coffee table version, not the pocket softcover.
