For strong beginners only

Don't be lulled into complacency by the "for beginners" subtitle. This is one tough workout, and while I am a yoga beginner and was indeed able to do all the poses, I am also pretty fit to begin with. You don't have to be a human pretzel to do this workout, but you do have to be a relatively experienced exerciser.
If you are a beginning exerciser, wait to do this one until you have a decent baseline of strength. It also helps to have a few basic yoga workouts under your belt so that the poses here aren't completely foreign to you. So, provided you meet the criteria for surviving Shiva Rea's practice, this is a really great introduction to an extended yoga flow. I really appreciated how frequently Shiva suggested modifications for the less flexible of us, so that a strong beginner could make it all the way through the hour+ workout without becoming stymied at a difficult spot and possibly hurting herself.
The production values are lovely, as usual for an Acacia DVD, and Shiva has a calm, soothing voice, as well as an impressive and inspirational ability to guide an at-home would-be yogini through a lengthy, difficult practice.
