Give it another try...

I saw this movie in the theaters on opening weekend when it came out. My expectations were high and I ended up leaving the theater somewhat disappointed. I recently bought this movie on blu-ray off of Alibris (for less than the price of a bag of popcorn mind you) and watched it again. Coming in with lower expectations, and not trying in vein to tie this movie to the Alien anthology, made for a much more enjoyable experience. What remained was a good science fiction movie with really good special effects and sound. Yes, there are some cliche plot moments ("Hey let me touch this oooze"), but I had more fun the 2nd time around.
