Not What I Expected

I am a Law & Order fan. Based on the fact that Linus Roache plays one of my favorite characters, I decided to see what else he might have done. I could not rent this movie or check it out at the library because of the "controversy" that surrounded it. I am Catholic but this had no weight on how I felt about the film. I hesitated on giving it five stars but, I decided to give it that rating because I cannot seem to stop thinking about it a day after watching it. The performances were particularly strong and the conflicts that plagued both priests were well handled. There is a single love scene which caught me by surprise, not because it was with two men, but it came across as something intimate and not rough and dirty like some movies portray them. This is not a movie I would watch over and over but I would, at some point, watch again.
