They could see the face now, and the well-known features - coal-black hair, bright blue eyes and nose turned upwards like the nose of a Dutch doll. Treasure, worth more than its weight in gold

I bought this book when I was 9, and though I was already a reader, I remember feeling that I was learning for the first time how wonderful a book could be.

"This is actual treasure," I remember saying (probably to anyone who would listen).

Vivid, very magical, funny and full of charm. One parents and children can enjoy together or separately, and whatever you pay for it is definitely a bargain.
