H.P. Lovecraft was a resident of Providence and many of the sites in his tales are recognizable to this day. Over a period of years, Henry L.P. Beck with, Jr. researched Providence and its outlying areas, armed with an appreciation of Lovecraft's writings and a deep interest in the region's rich colonial heritage.
