Excellent Reference

I bought a hardback copy of this book even though it was a lot more money because I will be using it a lot. It is a huge collection of Oriental wisdom about the body combined with easy to understand facts about nutrition and healing. My acupuncturist with 25 years' experience uses it constantly. Highly recommended.

Very Thorough

This is a fantastic book for anyone interested in learning to heal themself through diet. It covers mainly the Asian methods of viewing food and its effects on the body, but it also relates the information to the Indian Ayervedic principles. Both systems are closely related. The book covers the properties of food and the major imbalances in the body. Do not look here for calorie counts or vitamin and mineral content-- these systems look at the warming and cooling properties of foods and the taste (sweet, pungent, sour, etc.) and looks at which diseases are excesses of these properties.
The book is huge and covers probably more information than can easily be assimilaed, so it will become a great reference book for anyone interested in healing through dietary means.
