superb suspence

Engrossing from page one, and highbrow the whole way. This is a story you truly won't want to put down and never once will you feel you're reading "canned" crime ficiton. The crime happens at the outset, there are no real red herrings; the art is all in the plot. Mankell is gifted, and Book #1 of the Kurt Wallander series will hook you into all 8 titles.
