Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands opens as an eccentric inventor (Vincent Price) lovingly assembles a synthetic youth named Edward (Johnny Depp). Edward has all the essential ingredients for today's standard body, with the exception of a pair of hands. I recommend

At first I wasn't sure about the concept.

I mean, how the heck is this story going to work?

But it did and it did wonderfully.

Oh, and I love romantic movies that are very well made.

Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder and Dianne Wiest deliver fine performances in this sweet and very romantic movie directed by Tim Burton, who does a fabulous job.
