The music of Oxford-based British composer Edmund Finnis (b. 1984) will be new to many, and this NMC release is in the nature of a sampler, with several different ensembles performing. Finnis' music is sparse but not minimalist, always in motion but made up of glassy, hypnotic surfaces.
