A different kind of math

I'm new to this area of mathematics, and it is requiring me to work at it. The text is full of meaningful and helpful examples, and there is an associated student solutions manual that provides worked solutions to the odd-numbered problems. It is a very complete work, so there may be some topics that could be left out on a first reading.
