Diego Rivera Teh Complete Murals

The Complete Murals of Diego Rivera are a major text for art lovers, political and cultural workers. The edition is edited by his grandson Juan Rafadl Coronel Rivera and Luis-Martin Lozano. Diego Rivera's massive murals are photgraphed in a large, life size format which provides great details. The Complete Murals allows the reader an opportunity to see the plaza at the Detroit Institute of Art, the mural at City College of San Francisco, numerous murals in public buildings in Mexico as well as the photos of the mural in Rockefeller Center which were destroyed on the orders of Nelson Rockefeller due to an image of V.I. Lenin in a scene.
Rivera's work with two other Mexican muralist are considered the major muralists of the twentieth century. In Rivera's designs we get a cultural and political history of Mexico, international labor movements, the industrialization of automative production, the European communists conflicts, and religious icons. The details and beauty of the frescoes are amazing. Rivera with his third and fourth wife, artist Freda Khalo were important figures in the leftist cultural discussions from the 1930s until today.
