The public and private lives of famed songwriter Cole Porter are both explored in this musical drama, in which the aging Porter (played by Kevin Kline) looks back on his life while watching a rehearsal of a stage musical based on his story. Wonderful Music

Cole Porter wrote fabulous words and music. He wrote in a time when people listened to the words and they made sense. His songs told stories, sometimes silly and sometimes serious. This movie is a fictionalized account of Cole Porter's life, but the music is the star.
