eek!

While this movie's setting fascinated me, I was shocked by the amount of unnecessary on-screen violence. Though there may have been a little aspect of reality infused in the far-fetched story, I did not feel that characters' fingers needed to be bloodily smashed in front of the camera. DiCaprio has definitely played roles more convincingly in the past. So, ultimately, this drawn-out action flick, though culturally interesting, was a downer.
