Big Night is Big Small Film

My husband and I had this forever on VHS and are thrilled it's made it to Dvd. This is a perfect film: tight plot, exquisite writing, superb cast, fine music, finely detailed sets and costumes, and the food! But more than food to eyes and ears--much food for thought in the relationships between characters. A "small" film asking very big questions: What makes life worthwhile? What does it mean to be true to yourself and to other people in your life? What sacrifices are you willing to make to be "successful"? We don't purchase many films, but this is one I would want to have within reach and not trust to the possibility of streaming.
