True Beauty

This is a brilliantly illustrated and extended version of the familiar tale. Beauty's sisters are given names and her father a fleshed-out character of a kindly and wealthy, if over-indulgent, parent.

Angela Barrett?s illustrations are among the best I?ve ever seen, with each view revealing a new aspect of Beauty?s life, much like the magical prison she enters when she?s taken to the Beast. The illustrations and story come together in perfect symmetry, each beautifying the other. It?s one of the best variations I?ve seen of this well-known fairy tale.
